Buco was a famous leather jacket manufacturer founded in 1933 as the ‘Joseph Buegeleisen Co’, and were one of the first producers specialising in motorcycle accessories and bags. A few years later they developed their full apparel line promising “Motorcycle jackets, gloves, caps, belts & bags all cut and sewn by lifelong craftsmen to the task at hand”.Â
Manufacturing was maintained entirely at an in-house factory, allowing the brand to produce the highest quality leather jackets available on the market at the time. The horsehide rider’s jackets produced during 1940s-50s are considered their iconic pieces.Â
Handmade in Sabae (the centre of Japanese eyewear production) these Buco Charger glasses are a slimmed down version of the classic Wellington style.
