Robert Kubica 2008 BMW Sauber F1 Team F1.08 1:8 Scale Model – Canadian GP
2008 saw Robert Kubica take on the Formula 1 season in the BMW Sauber – and Kubica had a fantastic season. It was only his second year as a full-time driver, but he had made a fantastic impact in his first year and he would continue to do so in 2008.
After six races in the 2008, Kubica had a 50% podium conversion rate, with two 2nd places, a 3rd, two 4th‘s and a DNF. Heading into the Canadian Grand Prix, it is fair to say that the Polish man was on a great run of form. With difficult circuit conditions, Kubica qualified alongside Hamilton on the front row of the grid. Kubica stayed in second for the first period of the race. After a Safety Car and several people pitting Kubica took the lead from his teammate. Kubica managed to hold onto the lead for the remainder of the race to take not just his very first race win but Sauber’s very first race win. After the race win, Robert Kubica lead the Drivers World Championship
