Oscar Piastri 2024 ‘First Win’ Print – Hungarian GP
Celebrate the momentous occasion of Oscar Piastri’s maiden win in Formula 1, clinched at the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix. This print captures the Australian McLaren F1 Team driver celebrating on the podium after the race with his first place trophy – a beautiful piece made from porcelain.
Oscar started the race from P2, after he and Lando Norris secured a front row lock-out for McLaren. However, on the first corner, whilst Norris was defending from the Red Bull of Verstappen, Piastri saw his opportunity and lunged down the inside of his teammate, taking the lead. Piastri lead a good portion of the Hungaroring race; McLaren, however, decided to pit his teammate first, to fend off the Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton who was looking fast. This then led to order to shuffle. Nevertheless, the team knew that Piastri had essentially given up his lead for Norris to take the first pitstop, and therefore needed Norris to give the position back to Piastri – to change the running order to how it originally was. Albeit later in the race, Norris played his part and the positions returned, leading Oscar and Lando to finish P1 and P2 respectively. An enormous show of great teamwork between the drivers.
This photograph has been taken by renowned F1 photographer, James Moy, and captures the driver – only in his second season in F1 – as he celebrates his debut win.
