Orgueil French Railroad Jacket Navy
An offshoot of “Osaka Five” member, Studio D’artisan, Orgueil offer collections inspired by early 20th century workwear designs.
The French Railroad Jacket from Orgueil is the brand at their best, taking classic workwear designs and elevating them for modern day wear. Inspired by a vintage 1940’s Railroad Jacket supplied for workers on the SNCF railway systems, distinguished from the classic ‘french blue’, these were issued in a heavy brown cotton duck canvas and are now instantly recognisable as SNCF issue.Â
Cut in Japan from a lightweight blend of cotton & linen, this classic Railroad Jacket features distinctive workwear characteristics throughout. The yoke, chin strap on side of collar & cuff detailing give a nod to the original jacket, while the fabric is elevated for ease of wear. Once assembled and sewn, the fabric is then over-dyed navy and washed to give it a worn in and vintage look. Two single patch pockets & single chest pocket have been paired with a button front for an easy wearing, utilitarian look.Â
