Mercedes-AMG Petronas 2011 F1 Team Brake Disc Table
Bring the racing action of the F1 track into your home with this sleek table, crafted out of a race-used brake disc once used on the 2011 Mercedes F1 cars, driven by Michael Schumacher or Nico Rosberg.
The 2011 F1 season was successful for Mercedes. With Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher finishing in seventh and eighth in the Drivers’ World Championship, respectively.
The oak table top is cut from a piece of solid oak and is perfectly shaped to fit the carbon brake disc. Polished with refined Danish oil and inset with the official Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team plaque, the oak table is fitted with a toughened glass top to protect the original racing heritage.
Brake discs reach temperatures of 1000 degrees celsius in a single braking zone and each race presents different challenges for the brakes – from full throttle into heavy braking zones at the Canadian GP, to the undulations of height at the Austrian GP. They take up to six months to produce, in a careful process of compressing and baking the carbon fibre and they weigh just over 1kg.
