M-65 1st Pattern – Medium Short ‘US ARMY’ ‘HARE’
One of the most recognisable jacket designs of all time and a prime example of military clothing transcending to streetwear and being adopted by almost every style subculture; the M-65 is a fashion icon.Â
Standardised in 1965 (M-1965), and issued from 1966 until the 80s, the pattern went through numerous spec. changes, though the 1st pattern in the most sought after and rarest.Â
The 1st Pattern had some design traits unique to this model. Only issued for one year in 1966, the first pattern unlike the subsequent variations has no epaulettes and a shorter, slightly slimmer fit, giving a simpler and, to some, a more aesthetically pleasing silhouette.Â
