Jenson Button 2009 Brawn GP BGP 001 1:8 Scale Model – Monte Carlo
At the end of the 2008 Formula 1 season, Honda chose to leave F1 after suffering financial difficulties, due to the 2008 economic crash, despite having the car nearly completed. Ross Brawn, a veteran of the sport, chose to buy the team from Honda for a reported singular Great British Pound.
The rest is history, from the rubble of Honda’s failure emerged a World Championship winning car and team. Jenson Button managed to win six of the first seven races and this gave him a staggering points lead in the World Championship, whilst his teammate, Barrichello, was second with 57% of the points that he had.
One of these race wins was at the incredibly prestigious race. The streets of Monte-Carlo are much feared by the F1 drivers. Its tight and twisty nature, as well as the walls that mark the track limits makes the circuit unforgiving. There is no margin for error in Monte Carlo, and Button managed a perfect race. The British World Champion lined up on pole and take his BGP 001 all the way to the chequered flag to finish first.
This 1:8 Scale model is a perfect replica of the car that wrote one of the greatest underdog stories in F1 history.
