The Shawl Collar Blanket Gown is inspired by 1930’s style work jackets and vests and in particular those made by the Blackbear brand, typically cut from a heavy duty cotton, moleskin or corduroy.Â
Coming in an intricate blanket pattern this season, the Blanket Gown demonstrates Jelado’s unique approach to vintage blanket pattern design and showcases Japanese craftsmanship at its very finest. Cut from 100% wool in Japan, the fabric has been woven to achieve the blanket pattern inspired by an original 30’s design.Â
This example from Jelado features signature piping throughout the shawl collar and front as well as the two patch pockets & cuffs. The rope toggle closure with natural bone is paired with a shawl collar while the sewn in cuffs complete the look.Â
