Fine Creek Leather Hank Western Shirt Black
New for SS20 and labelled under their sub-brand ‘Fine Creek & Co’, we have the Hank Western Shirt. Famed for their exclusive use of horsehide and unique tanning developments, this SS20 sees Fine Creek utilise their unique and really rather special leather tanning techniques and apply them to sheepskin.
The Hank takes inspiration from early style Levis & Wrangler western shirts and is cut from 1mm thick sheepskin leather – although at first glance it looks and feels similar to deerskin. The subtleties of deerskin are apparent in the sheepskin used here; the leather has a matte finish and no shine as such, in comparison to the horsehide we are familiar with.
A typical western style silhouette is apparent throughout as are all details. The Hank is slim fitting but due to the unique softness of the leather, it provides a comfortable fit for the wearer, whether as a shirt or over-shirt. Black pearl snap buttons are used for the button front and double snap cuffs while the western yoke is apparent at the front and back of the shirt. The diagonal ‘ranch’ pockets complete the western look while the shirt is finished with a rayon lining.
The nature of sheepskin and in particular, the leather Fine Creek have selected makes the shirt incredibly easy to wear. Soft to the touch as well as the finish the Hank is a joy to wear and will be a standout piece for years to come.
